How to increase eero WiFi speed? ›

eeros communicate best when they're not closed in. Keep them out in the open – try not to place your eero(s) inside a media console or cabinet. The thinner the barrier, the better. The fewer the walls (and the less substantial their inner material) between your eeros, the better your performance will be.

So, if possible, it's best to place your eeros at a height halfway between the floor and the ceiling, not on the ground. Keep your space open. eeros communicate best when they're not closed in; i.e. keep them out in the open—try not to place your eeros inside a media console or cabinet.

Setup. For a quick and easy setup experience, we recommend keeping your eeros in relatively close range to each other — a good rule of thumb is less than 50 feet between them. Once your network is up and running, feel free to spread your eeros out around your home.

If you're not getting the speeds you expect, the first thing you'll want to do is figure out if you're experiencing slowness on just one or multiple devices. If it's only on one device, simply turn your device's Wi-Fi off and on again. If that doesn't work, try rebooting the device.

Short Term - Your mesh takes between fifteen seconds and a minute to figure out the best path for data to travel through your network when any new request is made. Medium Term - The system takes about an hour to learn what kind of interference you have around your home, and learn to tune it out as best it can.

If your point has a weak mesh connection, try to move it closer to your router or primary Wifi point (the one connected to your modem). Points work better when they're closer together. Note that you want to place a mesh node in between the places of poor coverage and the closest mesh point.

For the best experience, when wireless, eeros and eero Beacons should be no more than 50 feet apart of at least another eero. Depending on your home, this can vary.

Generally, we recommend the number of eeros needed based on the number of bedrooms and/or floors in a home. Here are some general recommendations: Small homes and apartments: Since we recommend 1-2 eeros per floor, in these home settings, a great fit would be our eero and eero Beacon pack.

Should eero be plugged into modem or router? ›

Please note: you need a modem to connect to your eero router. If your modem is built into your current router (also known as a modem-router), then you will need to connect your eero to your existing router. The first eero device should be connected to either your existing cable, fiber, DSL modem, or modem-router.

Every home is unique, and eero was designed to be flexible so that it can be a fit for any home. Generally, we recommend one (1) to two (2) eeros per floor or one eero for every 1,000 square feet, with a limit of three (3) total beacons.

While we don't generally recommend this approach, as you will lose some advanced features of eero, it is necessary for customers with certain network configurations. If you have a modem/router combo device, we recommend putting that device into bridge mode.

With two 10 GbE ports, you can enjoy wired speeds up to 9.4 Gbps, wireless speeds up to 4.3 Gbps, and multi-gigabit backhaul speeds—making your network seriously fast.

And while the main Eero 6 router can handle speeds of up to 900 Mbps with the additional nodes, it will only cast out up to 500 Mbps. It's not a slouch, but if you have gigabit speeds, the Eero 6 just doesn't make sense, as it can't hit the speeds you're paying for.
