Graduate Hotel Locations: Where to Stay in College Towns (2024)

These days, you’ll find Graduate Hotel locations in many collegiate place. That is, it is a relatively new chain of hotels that target college towns. Thus their name.

Right now, there are more than three dozen locations, primarily in the United States. However, there are also Graduate Hotels in the United Kingdom.

Also, I just updated this article to reflect two additional Graduate Hotel locations that will be opening soon in college towns.

How I learned about Graduate Hotels

So, how did I learn about this unique chain of hotels?

When I started writing my roundups of hotels near colleges with Peloton bikes.

You see, the majority of these hotels have Peloton bikes in the hotel gym.

However, not all do.

What makes these hotels special

Each location is decorated to reflect the college it is located near. Or at least the town in which it is situated.

For example, the Graduate Hotel Eugene is located close to the University of Oregon. So, don’t be surprised if you see the Oregon Duck worked into the hotel motifs.

Also, with the school’s colors green and yellow, you’ll see lots of decor in those hues.

It’s the same with the Graduate Hotel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Except in this instance you’ll find a makeshift basketball court woven into the lobby carpet to celebrate the UNC Tar Heels.

In case you didn’t know, basketball is a big deal here, as it is in many other college towns.

Finally, if you visit the Graduate Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan, you’ll see maize and blue everywhere.

Also, it helps that the property is literally on the edge of the University of Michigan campus.

Usually, you’ll see those college colors made into a unique plaid pattern.

As of this writing (2023), there are 31 Graduate Hotel locations in the United States open.

Many of these are hotels with Peloton bikes.

You’ll find these uniquely collegiate hotels in the following states. Then, after that list, I’ll give you an alphabetical run down of the specific locations with Graduate Hotels.

The Graduate Annapolis hotel is located in the heart of the Annapolis Arts District and very close to the U.S. Naval Academy. Like many Graduate hotels in college towns or near universities, the Graduate Annapolis has Pelotons in the hotel gym. In fact, it has two, shown below.

Right on the campus of the University of South Carolina is theGraduate Columbia hotel. It’s dog friendly, hip and has at least one Peloton bike.

The Graduate Hotel Palo Alto is a short drive from Stanford University. In fact, its location is closer to Stanford Stadium (great for football Saturdays) than the school’s campus.

It will take you all of two minutes to walk from the Graduate Tucson to the University of Arizona.

Currently, there are two of these hotels overseas.

They are both in England in the following places:

Cambridge, England

Graduate Hotel Cambridge

The Graduate Hotel Cambridgenear the University of Cambridge has a Peloton bike in the fitness center.

Oxford, England

Randolph Hotel by Graduate

The Randolph Hotel by Graduate, aka the Graduate Hotel Oxford, is located in a regal, historical building.

Graduate hotel locations coming soon

Right now, there are four new locations that should be opening soon.

One is in Princeton, New Jersey, because, you know, Princeton University.

The other is in Dallas, Texas. That’s because it will be located near SMU or Southern Methodist University.

To be honest, this Dallas Graduate Hotel, formerly the Lumen Hotel, has been “coming soon” for more than three years. I hope it opens soon.

The remaining two locations that Graduate Hotel chain has planned to open are a Graduate Hotel location in Austin, where the University of Texas is, and Auburn, Alabama, for Auburn University.
